Shodò.
For this school project concerning the typography, it was necessary to create a book that spoke of a typeface
of our interest or type of typography studied during the course.
For my book, I decided an unusual format: a horizontal a5.
My choice was not casual, in fact I was inspired by the Japanese notebooks made of sugar paper,
where the ancient Japanese scribes used to take notes.
My book is about the "Shodò" a very particular type of calligraphy characterized by the use of large brushes,
large paintings and a particular use of the ink. This technique is closely related to Japanese tradition and uses,
of course, the idiogrammi.
The cover was made by hand, with the use of a brush and ink diluted in water.
